Its a sad story of another CHD baby who needs a heart transplant to live. And when posting an innocent picture on Facebook to raise awareness. Facebook said the picture was too gory or grotesque. I can show gory with the photos I have of my son and daughter but no one wants to see a baby lying in bed with their chest still open because their heart is too swollen to sew their chest shut. The photo this father chose was a picture of his baby covered with a blanket in a hospital bed with a feeding tube in his nostril. Maybe too gory or grotesque for those blessed with healthy babies? I don't know. But coming from a family that has been through three open-heart surgeries with their kids, this photo was censored with a blanket because the father knew no one wants to see a baby like that. He doesn't want to see his baby like that I am sure.
Facebook needs to apologize, thank them and then donate money to this little baby to make things right anyd address the community on their social website that is affected by CHDs because there are many of us, too many of us. And when I said thank them, I meant thank the father for censoring the photograph because he could of easily shown what gory and grotesque truly is.
My heart hurts for that baby and my heart hurts for that family because I know a very small portion of what they are going through. And I think we should all be aware of the added stress this family did not need from Facebook. To see the story and photo, copy and paste in a new webpage. Thank you to the Daily News for sharing this story and making us all aware of this little baby, we will pray for the baby and family.
